It's a scene that happens hundreds of thousands of times a day around the world: two people meet in a lift, greet each other and begin to chat about work and life.
The twist in this particular story, though, is that the elevator is in Monte-Carlo; the two men are resident in the same apartment building; and both have written important chapters in Mercedes' Formula One history

On friday night i tried to kick a traffic cone. The cone didnt go anywhere, and my foot did its best to fold up into the back of my big-toe like it was one of those goofy little one-man tents. A big section of the toe is now black. but fuck all that, Daveo started his GY6 swap; He put the front-end together on Saturday, which went fine apart from the discovery that the horn/start/indicator switches are built into the stock handles, which were being swapped out. Theres probably a solution for that happening, but when I discovered his new brake handles werent actually anodized gold as Id previously thought, I stopped caring. I was there to watch most of the rear end get put together on Sunday. Apart from a bit of agg with the head on this particular GY6 being abnormally huge compared to its American counterparts, and the jungle gymmy nature of the mounting kit itself, its all on track to be sorted out next weekend. There was never any chance I'd try and do this swap on mine before Dave did, but watching him and his Dad work on it just made it so abundantly clear why. The first one out the gate always gets a bit dirty, mounting kit or otherwise. Oh, you ever watched 2 adults bicker at each other for 3 straight hours while building a rocket-sled? Its hilarious.

I am already dreaming of little puffy clouds of tire smoke and now there is less than two short weeks to go until the start of round 3 of the Formula Drift Pro Championship Series in Palm Beach Florida.

662 HP! The 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is, let's face it, an absolutely insane vehicle. An absurd amount of power, a ludicrous amount of engineering, and a horsepower-to-money ratio that can only be measured on the metric batshit scale. Weirdly, my biggest complaint is how utterly sane it feels. More »

You should see the Ferrari F2003 GA after the jump! The 333SP is driven by Mike Schlein (you might remember the video from Lime Rock, with the flames out the back of the F40LM? or the 2011 Porsche CHallenge videos) during the Ferrari Corse Clienti event at Laguna.
Early in the clip you can see the F1 car wiz by...

I bought an Subaru SVX as a daily driver, I don’t know why. Probably the attractive price and access to a cheap engine to fix its current rods out of the block situation. I don’t have any pics of it yet, but heres a few of the hot sauce one that the seller has built. As one of 230 brought into Australia, its a piece of Subaru history, and looking forward to getting it.
